BILLY
ELLIOT is a funny, heart-warming and feel-good celebration of

who discovers he has a special talent for dance, while the boys all around him
are more interested in boxing.
An unprecedented smash in the West End, where it has won 8 Best Musical awards, broken UK box office records and continues to sell out nightly, BILLY ELLIOT has been created by the film's director (Stephen Daldry), writer (Lee Hall) and choreographer (Peter Darling), who are joined by music legend Elton John, one of the most celebrated pop songwriters of the last 30 years. On October 1, 2008, BILLY ELLIOT landed on Broadway. And you can experience Billy's thrilling, inspiring story... in the most exciting musical of the decade.

Billy Elliot the Musical, according to press notes, "is the funny, heartwarming tale of a young boy with a dream, and a celebration of his triumph against the odds. Set against the historic British miners’ strike of the 1980s, the story follows Billy’s journey as a boy in a small mining town who, after stumbling across a ballet class while on his way to a boxing lesson, realizes that his future lay not in the boxing ring but on stage as a dancer."
